Ligonier Ministries conducted a 2020 survey of non-believers and Evangelicals regarding their core beliefs in Christianity, God, the Bible, and Christ.  The results are shocking, as the survey reveals a declining belief in the essentials of Christianity by evangelicals.  There are some bright spots also.  It is an interesting and fascinating study into our current theological mindset of 2020 American culture.  We show you (On our YouTube channel at Fifthook Media) the survey and go point by point on the core essential questions.  If you are a leader, a pastor, a youth group planner, etc, this study is vital in your understanding for winning souls and strengthening the doctrines of those you are responsible for.  For others, not in leadership, it is vital to understand your role as a witness of Christ in this day of confusion.

Exploring chapters 9 and 10 from the Gospel of John, we find the message of the pure Gospel of God toward us.  In Jesus' teaching on the Good Shepard, we find the element of SECURITY in our salvation and eternal life.  The Sheep are given to Christ by His Father, and they are led by Christ and hear His voice.  Nothing can remove God's gift from Christ because it is the Father who gives the Sheep to Him.  And nothing can remove the gift of the Sheep from the Father's hand.  Christ and the Father are one, and the Sheep are SECURE in their salvation and SECURE in who they are as followers of the Good Shepard.

In the portion of the ancient Jewish temple called the Treasury, stood a colonnade that hung many lamps, which lit the entire city of Jerusalem with their brilliant light at night.  It was at the end of the Festival of Shelters, that Jesus stood among these lamps and declared, "I am the LIGHT of the world.  All who come to me will not be in darkness."  This again, is the pure, clean, unadulterated Gospel of YHWH found in the Gospel of John chapter eight.  We explore the "Saving Faith" of believing that Jesus was the one sent from Father God for the salvation of all who embrace Him, and the "Living Faith" required to obey the teachings and commands of Jesus to truly be His disciples.  Both Saving Faith and Living Faith are gifts from the Father so that they who believe are drawn into that belief by God alone.  

Finding the "PURE" unadulterated simple Gospel of God (YHWH) as found in the Book of the Gospel of John.  Today we explore Chapters Seven and a bit of Chapter Four.  We find that Jesus is the THAT Living Water that many Old Testament Prophets wrote about.  As we see Jesus "Stand Up" in front of the crowd at the last feast of the year, He SHOUTS, "I AM the Living Water!  Come to me for salvation!"  This was on the last day of the Feast of Shelters when the Priests went down to the spring running under the Temple Mount (River Shiloah), using golden bowls to obtain that water, then bringing it in front of the celebrating crowd, and they poured the water on the Altar of God for an offering.  This is the scene as Jesus SHOUTS out, I am that Living Water!"  We then go to Chapter Four, and listen in on the conversation between the Samaritan woman and Jesus, and find that He declares the same thing to them, "I can give you Living Waters!"  

In our "search" for the purest form of the Good News that leads to salvation of the person, we continue in the Book of the Gospel of John, chapter six.  Here we find Jesus (YHWH is Salvation) performing the miracle of feeding over 5k+ people with just a few small fish and barley loaves of bread.  The purpose of this miracle was to point to Himself as the one who is the never-ending "Bread of Life."  We find in this chapter that it is God the Father who "draws" a person to Christ.  That person is "given" to Christ, and He will never reject that person whom God gives Him.  Additionally, Christ will never "lose" a single person, and guarantees that He will raise that person from the dead on the last Day of the Lord.  This is the most pure unadulterated Gospel of God.  This is pure truth.  We can't add nor subtract anything from it.
