As an authoritative shaper of the reggae and dub scene in southwest Germany, Railroad Records delivers "At The Rolling Gate" for the Soundsystem Disco at prime time. With 12" Vinyl / Maxi-LP and 5 heavy steppas tracks, Kaptan meets Adrian in 4-to-the-floor rhythm. The digital release includes a bonus track from Kaptan.

Kaptan has already made a splash with his debut release "Dubs From The Vault" [BCSMTAPE004] on Basscomesaveme as a producer in early 2023.

Adrian is co-operator of the Stuttgart sound system Flying Dubmen, which is also represented on the record by instrumentalists Joelito and Selecta Smutje.

I sat down with Selector James Joint from the Railroad Records crew and met him for a dub vinyl session. So here it is. 90 minutes of pure groundstepper dubs across. Back to back, side by side, dub fi dub..enjoy!

Originally by The Heptones (1971), Bunny 'Striker' Lee produced this rooted version. My Guiding Star by Horace Andy released in 1978, and here's the full dub mix by me, already known from the mixtape "Organic Dub Squeeze" released in mid-2021.

Well known as the original play: »Do Your Thing« by Isaac Hayes – released 1971. The Chosen Few, reggae band from Jamaica did a soulful reggae groove with a lot of funky elements. The baseline is quite same as the original. The musical productions from Isaac Hayes have been clearly multilayered compositions ever since. So there is a lot of stuff to reinterpret to. And this is the dub version.

From the soulful original »Midnight And You« by Love Unlimited Orchestra from 1974, there is a smooth, nice and easy reggae cover by Willie Lindo. It is called »Midnight«. Because i like the groove of the song, i have decided to dub the whole tune in a extended version of the mix.

I did a dub mix from the song by Sylvia Robinson, which released 1976 and produced by Sylvia Robinson & Michael Burton, called »Sweet Stuff«. I like the mood of the song and the nice and groovy baseline.
