"It always comes down to process," according to Kara Yarnot, Vice President of Strategic Consulting Services at HireClix, a boutique recruitment advertising and consulting firm. Yarnot says "Time to fill is one of the most [evil] metrics we have in talent acquisition. The primary reason is that it actually drives the wrong behavior…" because recruiters are evaluated on how long it takes to fill a position, rather than on filling positions that are "going to have the biggest business impact." Yarnot says HireClix focuses on evaluating the total talent acquisition process for companies because all the areas "play off each other…It always comes down to process…if your process is broken, or misaligned, it doesn't matter what amazing technology you pick, it's not going to solve that problem." Yarnot has worked with a number of Fortune 50 companies, including SAIC, Boeing, and Intel, and is a frequent speaker at HR conferences. @klyarnot
