"An extraordinary casting coach who teaches you how to fish rather than merely cast" is how one of his fellow fishermen describes him.
As part of the charity 'Get Hooked on Fishing' enabling thousands to try fishing, he 'puts something back' in more ways than one.
A keen naturalist, he encourages an holistic approach to managing all wildlife in the river's ecosystem. 
Altogether, someone who goes out of his way to promote his sport to everyone, fully deserving of his MBE.
