I had such an enjoyable morning, chatting to Clare about how The Oteley Estate balances history and innovation on the edge of Ellesmere, Shropshire.

Those saddleback pigs and piglets snuffling round the ancient walls in the sunshine were a joyful welcome as I arrived! (You will be hearing all about them).

An estate, run by the same family for over 500 years, has quite a story to tell and Clare, rightly feels that people are 'hungry' for the story behind the brand. 

With Clarkson's Farm highlighting all the difficulties facing farming, people are beginning to learn what it takes to produce quality food. The Oteley team are making a brilliant job of showing you just what you are getting for your money.

"Never Say Die" sounds like a James Bond 007 movie and, to be fair, it is a bit like that in my profession. Very full on and stressful at times, often shaken and stirred!"

Calm under pressure and taking to the tractor on the farm to wind down, Nigel has a rich family history and a many a good trail hunting story, as well as some of the more light hearted moments, which can happen, at a Cheshire rural funeral!

There were plenty of flat caps at Crewe Station on Tuesday morning, 19th November as everyone from the Cheshire farming community trouped up to the capital to join the many thousands who wanted to make their voices count in opposition to the assault on family farms.

"An extraordinary casting coach who teaches you how to fish rather than merely cast" is how one of his fellow fishermen describes him.
As part of the charity 'Get Hooked on Fishing' enabling thousands to try fishing, he 'puts something back' in more ways than one.
A keen naturalist, he encourages an holistic approach to managing all wildlife in the river's ecosystem. 
Altogether, someone who goes out of his way to promote his sport to everyone, fully deserving of his MBE.
