Leavitt received a bachelor's degree in politics and communications from Saint Anselm College. While in college, she worked as a producer for Hearst Television. Leavitt served as a presidential writer and as assistant press secretary in the Trump administration. In January 2021, she became director of communications for Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.)
