Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has announced that the implementation of the Energy Sector Levies (Amendment) Act, 2025 (Act 1141) will begin on July 16, 2025, after being temporarily suspended last month. This decision follows a review of market conditions and aligns with the government's goal of maintaining economic stability. In response, Samuel Amoah, deputy Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union, noted that although the drivers' union initially opposed the 1 cedi fuel levy, they have now agreed to its implementation following recent reductions in fuel prices.
