President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has noted that though several laws have been enacted to check corruption and corrupt practices, the menace still persists. He describes the situation where people either demand bribes before doing their work or collect bribes to allow wrongdoings retard development. President Akufo-Addo said Ghana loses an estimated amount of $3bn annually to corruption.

A local government expert says the chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC) would have resigned if Ghana was to be another jurisdiction due to the fallout from the local-level election. According to Mr. Amon Kotei, though there are lapses with any human institution, what happened yesterday where some electoral areas could not vote was not the best.

Today Minister of Defense and Interior, and the Military High Command are expected at Gomoa Fetteh to allocate lands that they bought from Gomoa Fetteh to military officers but Nananom and Senya Bereku say the said lands belong to Senya Bereku, not Gomoa Fetteh.
