Kate Wharton calls in from Washington DC, where she works for Deloitte’s consulting practice for the public sector. Since graduating she helped to found D2international, an initiative to pair Deloitte’s consulting resources with development organizations around the world. She is also the COO of Refugee Open Ware, an organization that looks to achieve “moonshot humanitarian innovation” by applying advanced technologies to areas of need in order to disrupt and improve the way we deliver humanitarian assistance.
In an age where different sectors of society are colliding and new disruption technologies are emerging, Kate provides a thoughtful take on how big business and new technology can be used to contribute to international development.
