Katie tells her story about how she was diagnosed with cervical cancer shortly after giving birth to her son and her struggles with postpartum, loneliness, and her mother’s own cancer diagnosis a mere year after hers. Kareen and Katie discuss the role medicine played in their lives and Katie’s journey to learning to appreciate her hardships and use them to help other cancer patients. Katie advises that the best way to help someone in need isn’t to have all the answers but to be an ear for them to release their raw emotions.
