Rise Mzansi leader Songezo Zibi says South Africa’s Government of National Unity is stumbling from one crisis to the next and it’s the people who are paying the price. Thungela Resources has taken a heavy knock from weaker coal prices and rising costs, with net profit plunging 79% to R248m in the first half of the year. Revenue slid 12% to R14.8bn, while HEPS fell 80% and EBITDA dropped 68%.
