  • The Front Page - Grief, Silence And A Murder Investigation: The St Stithians Teenager's Case
Two teenagers 17-year-old Cameron Waldeck-Cooks and 19-year-old Ethan Coetzee were found dead in a Sabie lodge room on Monday, August 3rd. What began as an inquest became a murder investigation after post-mortem results showed Cameron was strangled, while Coetzee is believed to have taken his own life.

Cameron's brother has since broken his silence, saying she "did not pass peacefully" and calling out media coverage that ran her photo alongside her accused killer.

Fresh and Thato was joined by Content Manager at IOL, Se-Anne Koopman to unpack this and on other stories to expect on IOL. Kaya 959

  • How Women Power Africa's Economies
Across Africa, women are the backbone of informal trade, micro-entrepreneurship and community-based commerce. They run cross-border businesses, drive household economies, and power the continent’s most resilient markets. Yet millions remain ‘credit invisible’. Tonight, as part of our Women’s Month coverage, we speak to someone who is working to change that. Jeannine Naudé, Vice President and Head of Africa Regions at TransUnion Africa, helps us unpack how Africa can dismantle credit invisibility, unlock capital for women entrepreneurs, and build financial identities that travel across borders. www.kaya959.co.za · Kaya FM

It’s an equity investment, paired with hands‑on mentorship and access to her professional network — launched through BLKBRDG, the venture platform she founded to back high‑potential African entrepreneurs. www.kaya959.co.za

  • Women’s Financial Confidence vs Financial Freedom In South Africa
South African women are confident — but they’re not yet financially free. That’s the headline from the inaugural 1Life Women’s Life Confidence Index, which surveyed nearly a thousand women across the country. The research shows that 57% of women feel mostly or completely empowered to make decisions about their future. But despite this confidence, 38% say insufficient income is the single biggest barrier to achieving financial security. To help us unpack these findings, we’re joined by Hayley Parry, Money Coach and Facilitator of 1Life’s Truth About Money. www.kaya959.co.za · Kaya FM
