A wildfire that burned more than 50 acres east of Tustumena Lake this weekend was caused by an escaped campfire at Centennial Lake Campground, according to the Alaska Division of Forestry. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game will open the Russian River Sanctuary Area early for sockeye salmon sport fishing. The fishery will open tomorrow instead of July 15.
