I decided to “cookbook” my way through starting up a podcast. The key takeaways for part 1 are:

1. Mistake #1: Do not start recording audio right away.

2. Mistake #2: Do not go forward without a topic, goal or domain of knowledge.

3. Mistake #3: Do not assume you can host your podcast files anywhere.

a. Squarespace will host a podcast, but do not assume that it (or just any host) will be able to syndicate it correctly.  Use the Podba.se checkup.

4. Mistake #4: Do not ignore podcast terminology.
