A new Fortnite season is upon us and Derek is here to break it all down. He brings his best guesses for what this new season has in store for you.

In the animal segment, todays feature is the ball python, a pretty fun pet if you're into snakes.

Episode 10 finds us discussing Fortnite, of course, baboons and the new-ish Aquaman movie.

In this episode, Derek is on the eve of his 13th birthday! He's pretty excited about that, for sure.

We've got our usual Fortnite discussion at the top of the show, of course, with the focus on the new scoped revolver. Derek also talks about the new glider re-deploy item as well.

In the Animal Segment, tonights focus is on the Poisonous Dart frog. This frog does NOT sound like it would be much fun to run into. If you touch it, it deploys poison that will ruin your day. Frankly, I'm not sure where he finds these interesting animals, but I've never heard of this one, so I get to learn as well.

In the final segment of the show, we learn about something called "paramotoring". I've never heard of this, but if you head on over to www.kineticchaos.com, I'm going to put a video into the show notes so we can see what it looks like. From our discussion in the show, it sounds like an absolute blast!

At the very end of the show I popped a question on Derek that he wasn't aware of. I asked him what one of the biggest challenges of being a seventh grader is. After a little banter, he settled on being "yourself". I couldn't agree with him more. We also get into how important it is to talk with people, likely adults, about the things that are happening to you as you change in your early teen years. It can be a rough time for kids and we want to encourage anyone and everyone that feels like they may need to talk about things to reach out to someone you trust.

In this episode, Derek and Will sit down to chat about the new sniper rifle available in Fortnite.  We always enjoy our Fortnite discussions, I learn new stuff and Derek gets to talk about all of the fun stuff he's been doing.

Derek has now made the jump to PC gaming as he got a new computer for Christmas.  We talk about the differences Derek finds between the console PS4 he started on what it's been like for him to make the switch to a PC.

We've also started something new to KCP, our new KCP StreamTeam, where we're going to build a team of streamers on Twitch for different games.  To begin with, our focus is on Fortnite, but as we progress, we'll be expanding to more games.  We may even bring in an old guy team for the old school Nintendo system; watching middle aged guys playing Legend Of Zelda or Mike Tyson Punchout will be a blast!!

In the Animal Segment, Derek decided to dig into crocodiles.  I don't know much about them other than I don't want them to bite me.  I learned that there are different sub-species of crocs, which I found cool.  What I don't find cool is Crocs on feet, because...just...because.

It's been awhile since Derek and Dad (episode 6 can be found here) sat down behind the microphones, but like riding a bike, we pick up right where we left off.  In this episode, we dive into the newest Fortnite updates and the lawsuits that have recently been filed against the maker, Epic Games, but several people.  The lawsuits revolve around the fact that Epic Games used dances in the game without the consent of Alfonso Ribiero (the Carlton), Russell Horning (the Floss) and rapper 2 Milly (the Milly Rock). In the animal segment, Derek gives us the Red-Eared Slider, a small turtle-like creature. Frankly, I think he uses these animal segments to try and convince me we need each of these critters. NOT. GOING. TO. HAPPEN. Haha, never say never, I know, but the chances are very slim that we'd bring one of these into the house.

We wrap the show up with some obligatory Christmas chatter revolving around our favorite treats and what not.

Hahaha, I'm laughing because this was the first episode of KCP Kids Podcast that we simulcasted on our Facebookpage.  Derek was SOOOOOO nervous but he did great.  We started the show talking about the end of Derek's football season.  The season wasn't the best, but he learned a bunch and had a blast.  Then, the fun began...

Fortnite, as always, is the way of the talk in this episode of KCP Kids.  Derek has gotten several wins, including a solo, since the last podcast.  He discusses his strategies and thoughts about the new season.

Homework is a way of life for a seventh grader and Derek talks about what it's like for him this year and how seventh grade is different than sixth.  We wrap up this episode with a talk about whales.  A cool place to find out information about whales and other cool things is www.justfunfacts.com.

This episode is a ton of fun.  Derek and I discuss what it means to be a healthy kid, how to be a responsible pet owner and of course, Fortnite.  

Being a kid isn't always the easiest thing, especially when it comes to eating right.  We talk about making sure that you're eating your fruits and vegetables and trying to avoid ingredients that you can't pronounce on a package.

Animals are a huge responsibility, Derek knows this first hand, so he wanted to make sure kids out there know what it's like to own a pet and take care of them properly.

Finally, there's a new season Fortnite coming out this evening.  Derek gives us his thoughts on what he thinks will happen.  Join us.
