It’s the penultimate episode of CBS Access’s adaptation, and ladies & gentlemen we finally have a title! Also, Lloyd does not like Glen’s opening statement, a birth does not go well, Randall Flagg’s dance game is on point; Kojak is a great wingman; Trashcan Man does not have a good sense of direction and can’t read the room, and we find out that Lloyd is a big fan of Larry Underwood’s music! Trashcan Man shows up, and we find out that Ezra Miller is making CHOICES with his performance and I cannot say I hated it? (Unlike everyone else apparently) You know who’s also making choices this episode? Harold Emory Lauder, that’s who, and it’s of his own volition! Franny gets more agency, gets closure with Harold, the kids of Boulder watch Time Bandits, Larry finds out the difference between Nadine and Mommy Nadine and has motorcycle trouble, and Mother A has a Come To Jesus moment in the woods of Boulder. Plus, Bobby Terry screws it up!

We finally see what all the fuss is about over there in New Vegas. It seems like it’s a nice family place (if you’re the Manson Family). You’ve also got Mother A talking about choices, Harold going a little too far with a nanny cam, gladiator pits, Lloyd has performance issues, and even Randy Flagg knows that milk does a body good! This week I first touch briefly on real life events, because how could I not, then talk a bit about my reaction as a new listener to a Stephen King podcast (The Loser’s Club) and what happens when you have a negative reaction to someone’s negative reaction of something you really like. Then I dig into Episode 4 of The Stand, and how “shortcutting” is okay if it’s done well; how an actor’s performance can deepen and get better if they have a really good scene partner to bounce off on; and how emotional this adaptation is making me.
