Some UC Santa Barbara reserchers are involved with a science fiction film festival that’s coming to town this weekend. KCSB's Harry Lawton spoke with them to find out more about the Raw Science Film Festival.

The Thomas Fire is nearly fully contained - but some people in Santa Barbara are still suffering from the impact of being near so much smoke and ash. The Thomas Fire has been burning for over a week and continues to pose a threat to communities in Carpinteria, Summerland, Montecito and Santa Barbara. Tens of thousands of residents have been ordered or advised to evacuate. But, humans aren’t the only ones evacuating from the Thomas Fire — pets are leaving their homes, too.
