No video game is complete without music. What we hear plays a huge part of the vibe a video game ultimately conveys - whether it's a feeling of fun, fright, or that one feeling where you believe you're a one-person army who's ready to face off against any Lovecraftian monstrosity the game hurls at you while you're trying to save the world. So Alex and David chat about their favorite soundtracks, from the frantic and upbeat tunes of Cuphead to the ominous, ever-unnerving melodies of Silent Hill.

But before that, there's a lot more to discuss. David talks about the Super Mario Bros. Movie and why the critical reception is so off compared to the public reviews and the movies revenue, while Alex dives deep into the upcoming Five Nights At Freddy's film. But there's also Pokémon, Minecraft, Zelda and Final Fantasy XVI. Come and listen!

What do video games really hide from us? How many layers can be peeled back, before we arrive at the truth? In this episode of the KeenGamer podcast, Alex and David dive into their favorite, most brain-teasing video game conspiracies. What's going in in Stardew Valley's Pelican Town? Could Hideo Kojima secretly be a time traveler? That and other recent news you'll hear in this episode!

It's always fun to speculate about the lore behind video games. It's for that exact reason that tons of channels and websites are dedicated to finding the truth behind video game universes. Alex and David share some of their favorite theories, ranging from the strange remnants of the 1994 MMO game Worlds.com to questioning the very fabric of the world we live in.

Of course, before we get into that, we chat about the games that we've been playing and some upcoming news. Alex documents what Zack Snyder's cryptic tweet could mean, while David gets hyped for the upcoming V Rising update this May. From the nature of the horror genre to the visual details of Amsterdam Drift in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, there is once again more than enough to talk about. Come listen to us!

Last week's Pokémon Presents provides the perfect jump-off point for an in-depth discussion on everything Pokémon. Alex and David chat about their hopes and dreams for the future of Pokémon. From the real and ironic potential of Pokémon Sleep to the over 200 new Pokémon that Pokémon Scarlet and Violet's DLCs will be adding. And from there, it's only a small segue into a passionate discussion about our favorite Pokémon.

Before we lay out our arguments on why our favorite Pokémon should reign supreme, David explains his excitement for Minecraft's 1.20 update, and Alex offers a thorough analysis of Elden Ring's single-picture DLC announcement, all the while they argue about who can do the segue into the next topic.

Happy Halloween, and welcome to KeenGamer's discussion on the best horror movie characters out there! All the panel's favorite heroes and villains are listed, from Hellraiser to The Shining, along with some honorable mentions.

Before the main topic, Mark dives into his thoughts on Gotham Knights and whether it's more of a Marvel's Avengers or Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy quality. Also in the first segment, Alex talks about his time with Overwatch 2 now that we're over a month after its free-to-play launch, and goes over all the horror content available in Dead by Deadlight.

After that, and sticking with the horror theme, Konami's huge reveal of multiple Silent Hill games also gets a breakdown by the duo - from Bloober Team's Silent Hill 2 remake, to the mysterious Silent Hill: Townfall.

In a very special main topic, Mark, Jessica, and Noah go over every 10/10 ever rewarded at KeenGamer, and discuss the site's (and their own personal) review process. What is it exactly about a game that gets it a 10/10?

Many genres have got a 10/10 at the site, including a lot of indie titles, but many more have got a 9.5 or above, so the crew shouts out some notable ones, but you can check out the full list and links to all the reviews.

Before diving into the main topic, the trio discusses Deathloop and Tak again, unpack the huge, if unsurprising, news that Stadia is shutting down in 2023, and react to that big HBO TLOU trailer.

Dan Allen's mistake outing as a leaker is also covered, as are examples of GOOD leaks in video games, and comparisons to movie leaks, particularly Marvel projects.
