The power of local purchase decisions has never been more noticeable in small towns and communities throughout our nation. The impact of these intentional purchases can be felt by store owners and workers along with the customers that are taking that extra step to seek out local businesses. Rebecca Woolard and Jesse Miller, two prominent figures in the Boone business community, put words to the actions that mean so much these days to customers and business owners alike. Hear how these two are individually impacted by the decisions made daily to support local on this week's #KeepBooneHealthy podcast.
Welcome to the Keep Boone Healthy Podcast series. Produced by the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce, these podcasts will be used to pass along community information as well as highlight businesses that help create the unique fabric of the High Country community.
The Yarchin family has been part of the Boone business scene for over 20 years as owners of The Pet Place. Like so many businesses, this local pet shop has used the lessons of COVID-19 to bring structure around some of their less formal product offerings. They also have continued valuable community service, helping to feed K-9 units attached to three local law enforcement agencies. The Yarchins, and The Pet Place, are a shining example of how a sense of community impacts business.
You can help The Pet Place, and many other HIgh Country Businesses by participating in Shop Local Saturday. Take a picture of a purchase made from your favorite business, take a picture and use the #KeepBooneHealthy hashtag, and tag the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce in the image.
