God calls us to trust in Jesus, to turn from sin to have assurance that we are going to heaven when we die, not because we are good enough, but on the basis of God's gift of righteousness. This is all because of Jesus atoning death on the cross. In him, believers have new life, a new hope, and are blameless in their new identity in Christ before God.
