Many people run from suffering, and as a result they get nothing from it. It is up to us to decide what positives come out of it. Do not wait for life to make you suffer, seek it out, find it, and begin to deal with suffering on your own terms.
Does God really listen? That is a question I have always asked myself. I have tried to refuse any doubt or lack of faith in that area, but deep in my subconscious I have always doubted it. A common weakness that people forget to address is being self-dismissive. Not to be confused with being self-critical. Dismissing self is the choice people make to give themselves an out before setting down a path, just in case the path does not work.
Having an enduring mindset is vital to get through any type of physical or mental isolation, but too often we accept weakness. We start to pity ourselves, and look for ways out mentally. There are times to attack, there are times to defend, and there are times to endure.
