This week I sat down with my former colleague Staci Slaughter, Senior Executive Advisor at the San Francisco Giants. Staci’s career with the Giants began in 1996 as she held leadership positions as Executive Vice President, Communications and Senior Advisor to the CEO. We talked about Staci’s shift from politics, as a Senior Advisor, Chief Spokesperson, and Speechwriter for the Mayor of San Francisco, to a career in sports and how unexpectedly similar the two are. Of course, we talked about her groundbreaking public relations work surrounding the development and opening of San Francisco’s beloved Oracle Park. And heard about the years-long effort and foundation-laying that led to the Giant’s 2010, 2012, and 2014 World Series wins and parades!

For our premier, I have the pleasure of sitting down with my very good friend Anthony Becht. A 12-year NFL veteran, first round draft pick, and the third NFL offensive player to play 152 consecutive games, Anthony is currently the Head Coach of the XFL’s St. Louis BattleHawks. We cover Anthony’s NFL career, his transition to coaching, and his leadership approach. He shares how he’s taken the lessons he learned as a player and applied them to motivating and leading his own team. And, of course, we need to hear how the BattleHawks are planning for their upcoming season!
