Whether we realize it or not, we all have a bias. Most of it comes from our upbringing or the things we choose to watch, look at, and listen to. So how do we look at people of a different race, culture or background the way God looks at them? Well, it starts with being a student.
Often, we believe we need to be a certain way, look right, act right, or have a perfect record to go to God. This couldn't be farther from the truth. God calls us to come as we are, even if it gets messy sometimes. So, how do we respond to our mess, and how does the church embrace this truth?
Doing the things we are supposed to do as a Christian can be hard. So how do we build a craving to do the things that honour God? How do we make reading the Bible, prayer, or worship a regular part of our lives? How do we learn to hunger for God?
So many students walk away from their faith. Why? Some blame the church. Some blame culture. Some blame background and upbringing. Whatever the case, how can we stop ourselves from becoming another statistic? Because, let's be honest, no one wants to be a statistic.
What are we supposed to do when the gap between our expectations and reality is too great? We often feel defeated, discouraged, angry or apathetic because we had such high hopes for something that didn't actually happen. The disappointment can be too much to handle. But what if that disappointment is found in God?
Do you ever feel like you just never measure up? When we do something wrong or feel regret over something, we often let that define us. We feel shame. However, you don't have to let those things define you! Don't believe us? Then listen in.
What are you afraid of? Don't lie, we are all afraid of something. Soooo what do we do with that fear? Whether it's rational or not, there is actually something we can do with that fear.
Let's be honest, we ALL struggle with anger. Food rage. Gamer rage. Sports rage. We all experience it. But what do we do when we get angry? Is anger even okay? How can we use anger for good? These are just a few of the things we talk about in this episode.
How do you process your emotions? Should we always act on them? Are they even okay to have? Let's talk about it.
What's the point of this podcast? Well, we wanted to create a place where we can have real and authentic conversations about life and faith for students. People are often reserved when it comes to certain topics, but on this podcast, we keep it 💯.
