Keeping a Glossary

Listen Later

Glossary creation is a crucial part of what CAT tools have to offer and having your own glossary will help you keep your terminology consistent with client preferences and areas of knowledge, especially during a long-term collaboration. In other words, until you start updating your own terminology database, you have no idea how much time you have wasted double-checking and confirming the exact same term several times when working with a client once a week, once a month, or once a year!

For a few weeks here at Translation Confessional, I’m highlighting some other aspects of CAT tools, because I don’t want to overload anyone with too much technical information in a single episode. I’m also brainstorming an online session about it with some video demos, so stay tuned for upcoming newsflash episodes here.
