I am so thrilled to share this interview with fellow sewist Monde Mutumba, the sewist behind Monde’s Threads. Monde is famous for her impressive overhauls of bridal gowns and formal wear, and of course her entertaining play-by-plays of the process! But today she’s sharing her own story: how her sewing journey began, how she filters out the right work commitments, behind the seams of pattern making, and what her plans are for the future. 

Monde displays an attitude that every successful entrepreneur needs in order to succeed: she’s flexible, and she doesn’t take herself too seriously. You’ll hear this throughout our conversation…her flexibility to grow and change with her business, and her fun perspective on the ‘crazy’ sewing requests. I was most impressed by Monde’s humility. For someone who is killing it on all of her platforms, she is one of the most approachable, humble, and others-focused creators I know.
