Growing up in the west with Middle Eastern values sometimes felt like being a fish trying to swim on the moon. This is the first time my siblings and I have sat down and really discussed the battles we faced trying to fit into a western world whilst still respecting our eastern heritage.

Taking a dive into the disadvantage male practitioners face in a female heavy client base vs woman. What allows woman to speak filter free to another woman but guarded to males typically? Can this potentially impact the consultation process and hence, the treatment plan? And on the flip side, how are female professionals disadvantaged from excelling in their professional careers if they want to stop to create a family?

This is the one with my childhood. I take a trip back to 1979 with my mother and we discuss everything from a chance meeting with my father at Glasgow central station on a cold winters night to having children in Kurdistan, fleeing war, growing up in Malta to building The Secret and everything in between. This is the most vulnerable and raw I have ever been and I am both terrified and excited to share my story with you.
