  • Bitch Craft: External and Internal Motivations
Chestnut Nola asked: I’ve found your podcasts about writing very helpful (and entertaining), so thank you for doing them. You’ve discussed character motivations and consequences quite a bit, particularly how external motivations can forward your plot. I’m wondering how you structure the internal motivations of your characters and how that moves within the overall plot. What do you think of the internal narrative of a character and how that helps shape your story? I find the external plot is often very clear for me, while the internal plot, and growth of a character is often elusive until I sit down to write.

  • The Best Laid Plans
One of the more interesting things about being a person with OCD is that I always plan for the absolute worst in my real life BUT I never consider failure as an option as a writer. That's odd right?

  • Bitch Craft: Creativity & Productivity
Sometimes being creative and being productive at the same is not possible. I'm probably going to spend about ten minutes talking about this then go completely off the rails regarding a topic because I'm a little scattered right now.

  • Bitch Craft : The Falling Action & World Building
Daisy-May asked: I’m re-listening a some podcasts and something Jilly said raised a question in my mind. She said that she struggles with ‘falling action’. I thought about this for a while and realised that although I’m trying to become a plotter rather than a pantser, I still struggle to break scenes/chapters down into action/falling action/consequences etc. Would you be able to talk about how one actually plots such things, or even just describe what the terms mean to you?
