Lauren Alaina is coming to the Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival this weekend. In her chat with Kelli & Guy, she expressed how eager she is to get up in a hot air balloon. Lauren definitely has no fear of heights, in fact, she talked about the multiple planes she's jumped out of. Aside from being an adrenaline junkie, Lauren is also a newlywed, telling us that while she's out on the road, her hubby is busy buying farm animals. Before taking the stage this Saturday at the Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival, Country singer Lauren Alaina joined Kelli & Guy on SoCal’s KFROG to discuss what she’s got planned for the big weekend.
Asked If there was enough wine in the world to get her up in a hot air balloon, Lauren shocked us when she admitted, “I don't need any wine to get in a hot air balloon… I was going to ask you if you could help hook me up!"
“Oh, yeah, I'm not scared,” she adds. “I've jumped out of multiple planes -- I've been skydiving like three times."
Speaking of unexpected answers, Lauren, still a fresh newlywed after tying the knot with Cam Arnold just a few months back, tells us that there happens to be one thing she couldn’t have foreseen before they actually started their lives together. “Chickens,” she says plainly.
“I came home and my husband had bought us six baby chicks -- and did not even talk to me about it,” she says. “I'm telling y'all, I would not be surprised if I came home one day and there was a horse in the living room.”
“My husband loves animals,” Lauren explains. “Every time I come home, we've got more animals I feel like.”
Kelli says her husband has been trying to buy a mini cow. “I'm like, ‘No, we have kids,’” she told him. “Yeah, they are little mini cows, aren't they?” Lauren says. “We don't have any mini cows, but you know who has some of those? Jon Pardi. They're so cute. I Facetime and talk to ‘em sometimes with him.”
She and Jon are close personal friends -- and he was actually one of the first to approve of her marriage. “The guy I dated before my husband, Jon told me the first time he met him that he didn't like him and he told him too. He said, ‘You're not good enough for her. I don't even know what she's doing with you,’ and he was right,” Lauren admits. “So, I told him ‘From now on you get to vet my boyfriend.’ And so as soon as I thought that I liked Cameron enough, I took him to meet Jon and I said, ‘What do we think?’”
“They're buddies,” Lauren says. “They chat on their own now."
After a few tries, Lauren says she swore off dating anyone involved in “any kind of entertainment,“ settling on the love of her life, Cameron, an insurance salesman. “He's a partner in a firm here and wears a suit and likes to golf,” she says, adding he “has no idea what I’m doing for a living and just supports me and loves me.”
