May is Mental Health Awareness month. We’ve all heard the phrase about personal history and problems likened to carrying around baggage. If you’ve lived any length of time, you have ‘baggage’ from past relationships, traumas and disappointments that you ‘carry around’ with you. It’s inevitable.
But, eliminating your baggage is NOT the answer. A healthy mindset doesn’t ignore the concerns of our past, we confront them head on, gain perspective and clarity, take measures to heal from the pain, and learn to carry our past as part of an integrated part of who we are and who we are becoming.
