Movie Mike’s Movie Podcast is hosted by Mike D who is the head writer on The Bobby Bones Show and The BobbyCast where he has been dubbed as the ‘resident movie expert’.  The podcast offers a weekly deep dive in a cinema topic often formatted in a ranking list format. Each episode, Mike gives a spoiler free review of a new movie in theaters or streaming at home. Mike discusses why it and other legacy sequels have flopped and shares his list of sequels that should not have been made. In the Movie Review, Mike talks about Challengers starring Zendaya which finds her in a tennis love triangle. Mike gives his thoughts on Zendaya’s stardom, the steamy scene and did it live up to the hype? In the Trailer Park, Mike breaks down Transformers One trailer which is the first-ever fully CG-animated Transformers movie. Mike is sad after realizing this movie was not made for him despite being excited for it.

He shares why it ended up being a much different movie than the trailer lead one, the anxiety ride it took him on, what works and where the movie could have improved to take it to a top tier film for him. In the Trailer Park, Mike talks about Apple’s new rom com called Fly Me To The Moon starring Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum. CinemaCon is the largest and most important gathering of movie theater owners from around the world!  In response to this year’s convention,  Mike gives his annual State of the Cinema Address to talk about how studios and movie theaters need to work together to give us a better experience.  Mike also talks about the Top 3 CinemaCon announcements he’e most excited about including an R-Rated Ninja Turtles movie. He also breaks down all the additional movie announcements.  In the Movie Review, Mike talks about Monkey Man starring and directed by Dev Patel. It follows his character as he seeks vengeance against the corrupt leaders who took everything from him and continue to systemically victimize the poor and powerless.  In the Trailer Park, Mike breaks down the Trailer for Joker: Folie à Deux starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga in one of the most anticipated R-Rated sequels of all-time.

Forbes recently released a list of celebrity billionaires and several Hollywood directors made the list. Mike decided to take a look at the Top 10 richest directors, their highest grossing movies and their impact on cinema. In the Movie Review, Mike talks about the new Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire and how he wasn’t expecting to enjoy it as much as he did. Mike talks about the legacy of the franchise, why nerds are upset about this movie and how it greatly improves from Ghostbusters: Afterlife. In the Trailer Park, Mike takes a look at the reboot of "The Crow" that stars Bill Skarsgård and FKA Twigs. And answers the questions: is this a movie that shouldn’t be remade? Mike also talks about how he met his favorite artist, Post Malone last week at the Ryman in Nashville.

Mike and Kelsey share the best and worst movies they watched in the month of March.
