Wyatt spent four hours listening to YOUR White Pine County Commissin yesterday.  After he was done, he felt like he lost IQ points because of the excessive stupidity.  Listen to him rant about their opposition to replacing two 100 year old schools that are not ADA compliant, cant be remodeled due to Asbestos, and more issues.  And they're opposed to making any Cost of Living adjustments for Exempt employees, risking the lost of Institutional knowledge.  All because some commissioners, including "Commissioner Dirt" who still hasn't filed Campaign Finance reports from the last election, don't think a 3% adjustment is justified. 

We're surprised he didn't have a stroke on the air.  I know some were hoping he did...

The March 26 White Pine County Commission meeting turned ugly.

A follow-up on our earlier commentary on the Campaign Finance and Financial Disclosure forms not filed or filed incorrectly by one commissioner. 

"Commissioner Dirt" correctly filed his 2025 Financial Disclosure form, but still hasn’t completed his Campaign Finance forms from 2024.  Who paid for his signs, and who paid for his political advertising?  Transparency in Government is needed, and so far, "Commissioner Dirt" is as transparent as mud.  Unless we get answers ON THE RECORD, we’ll have to go to the Secretary of State, and that will result in financial penalties.  Do the right thing, Commissioner. And if you want to respond, our microphone is open to you.  But I’m not holding my breath.

We reported on a new County Commissioner‘s failure to properly file campaign finance reports and financial disclosure forms.  Some people wonder what the big deal is about the reports.  The question is who paid for the commissioner's yard signs and advertisements in the newspaper?  If he did, he had to report the expenditure.  If someone else bought them, it had to be reported as a campaign donation.  Not filing the forms is also a finable offense.  Of course, the Secretary of State is too busy running for Governor to do his job, so failure to follow is just one more thing he won’t do.  And Commissioner Dirt will continue to be a scofflaw.

In 2015, now former White Pine County Commissioners pushed the Legislature and a former State Senator to pass legislation to disincorporate Ely, despite no attempt by citizens to use existing legislation to pursue the issue.  The loss at the legislature still has lots of hurt egos in the offices of the County, according to Wyatt Cox, who discussed the matter on the KELY Your Morning program.
