Yorkville girls tennis won its season opener with Kaneland, Finley Taxis earned medalist honors to lead Sandwich golf to a win and Oswego Co-Op's Alli Wiertel shot a 32 in a dual at Whitetail Ridge in Thursday's roundup.

Ryan Deane, 42, was arrested in April by the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force after he allegedly threatened a judge in December.

PMC Investments LLC., proposes to build 187 multi-family units on a 13.73 acres on the north side of Route 34, directly west of the Orchard Way shopping center. Currently, the proposal is 13.6 units per acre.

The South Barrington-based company specializes in exterior home improvement services, including roofing, windows, doors, siding, gutters and other renovation solutions.

Named in the lawsuit is Sean Staffeldt and the Oswego District 308 Board of Education. The lawsuit alleges years of grooming, sexual harassment and sexual misconduct by Staffeldt.

The Yorkville City Council also agreed not to install a rail guard, using the money saved to plant around 50-100 new trees throughout town.

A special ribbon-cutting ceremony was hosted by the Yorkville Area Chamber of Commerce on July 29. The new dance studio is located at 111 W. Hydraulic Ave. in the city’s downtown area.
