Chris, Kevin, and Kent watched all 12 movies and even played most video games to provide as much info about the franchise as possible. Yes, it’s a lot to listen to, so perhaps do so in smaller pieces. We also gave our opinions on who the hottest girl was and the best kill in each film. This took a lot of time, so if you know someone passionate about Friday the 13th, and we all know of at least one person, please share this with them.

“The Queen Who Ever Was” is the second worst title of an episode this season. How about “The Babysitter Who Never Was”? Rhaena is selfishly off chasing dragons and not looking after the “Queen’s” children. Daemon touches a tree and sees visions. Helaena has some psychic powers now. They set everything up for episode 9……oh wait, they cut 2 episodes so this was just a long teaser trailer for season 3 in 2026. Fuck this.

“The Red Sowing” is a lazy name that tries to capitalize on the Red Wedding. This episode had some cool chaos, some real stupid decisions, but was quite fun when the dragons were involved. A better title would have helped. At this point, just watch the dragon scenes. You can catch up on everything else in the season finale.

“Smallfolk” is mainly about Rhaenyra’s plan to recruit common folk who have Targaryen blood and try to make them into dragon riders. There’s also a decent scene between Mysaria and Rhaenyra. If you like seeing Daemon in Harrenhal and Rhaenyra asking “What would you have me do?” then this is the episode that you’ve seen 2-3 times already. Don’t forget, lead writer for the show, Sarah Hess, out and out said that the smallfolk didn’t matter when Rhaenys killed a bunch in season one. She deserves so much.

“Regent” is the name of the episode, but it should have been called “Aftermath of Rook’s Rest”. Doesn’t that make more sense? You had to know this would be full of slow-moving plot and not much else. The budget had been spent. We get to see Aemond flex a bit and Alicent realizes the reality of her current situation.

“The Red Dragon and the Gold” is the name of this episode. Really? Did anyone take the time to think this through? “Hey _____, did you see The Red Dragon and the Gold last night?” “No. I watched The Battle of Rook’s Rest you fool!” Arguably, the biggest episode in the show’s short history, we get dragons battling, lots of carnage, some big death scenes, and a big betrayal.

“The Burning Mill” could have been really cool if they had the budget and desire to show the Brackens fight the Blackwoods. Maybe more time could have been spent with the Starks since most people seem to be fond of them. Instead, we get a filler episode with one of the absolutely dumbest scenes in this show’s history when Rhaenyra sneaks back into King’s Landing.

This episode is titled “Rhaenyra the Cruel” but should be known as the much lesser version of the Cleagane Bowl. We had brother-on-brother anti-climatic violence that was stupid AND boring. This probably sounded cooler on paper than the final outcome produced. At least Mysaria started serving a purpose and Daemon started his departure from Rhaenyra.

This episode is titled “A Son For A Son” and deals with Daemon’s plan of vengeance against Aegon and Team Green. You’ve probably heard the term “Blood and Cheese” this summer, and this is the reason for it. It’s a good start to the season.
