In discussing the changing of the guard for UK men's basketball from John Calipari to Mark Pope, Barnhart says "sometimes fresh starts are good for everybody." He also explains why name, image and likeness (NIL) collectives are here to stay — even after the NCAA settlement leads to universities paying athletes directly — and is adamant about protecting opportunities for those who compete at Kentucky.
