Esther continues our series on the book of Philippians by returning to the passage in chapter 3 verses 1-11 that she spoke about 2 weeks ago since she felt that she had not completed talking about it. She concentrates on verses 8-11 including about the importance of developing a deeper relationship with Christ, knowing Him rather than just knowing about Him.

At our Encounter Meeting today we listened to a DVD by Louie Giglio called Seven Supernatural Thoughts. When you are fighting the battle of your mind, how do you take captive your thoughts? What do you say to yourself each morning, and how do you go about your day? In this message from Pastor Louie Giglio, we learn about seven supernatural thoughts that lead us to win the battle of our minds.

She talks about the people who claimed that the new believers needed to be circumcised and she warns us of the dangers of trying to add anything to the finished work that Jesus has accomplished on the cross, providing us with 3 reasons why this should be avoided.

However, the current Covid-19 situation caused her to speak about hope instead using a passage in the Lamentations 3:21-26. She gave us 2 actions for the new year: firstly calling to mind who God is, and what He has done for us & promised us; and secondly to wait quietly for God to come through.

Esther finishes chapter 2 of our series on Philippians by looking at verses 25 to 30 as Paul talks about Epaphroditus who came to help him and is now returning to Philippi. We will resume with chapter 3 in January.
