1 Peter 3:1-7 - February 9, 2020
The President is not the only who has a Union to report about! Every Christian who is covenanted in Biblical marriage (a marriage between one man and one woman) must also consider the state of their union. What characterizes yours? In this message we consider the fact that both wives and husbands have unique roles to fill in order to flourish a God-honoring union.
Luke 1: 26-33 - December 22nd, 2019
If you’ve read as far as Daniel 7, you’ll no doubt wonder where all this is going. Will the saints always be the bloodied underdogs of the beast-nations? In this Christmas message we watch as the prophetic word given to Daniel finally finds its intended target. Just as God said it would. At the perfect time (Gal. 4:4) God sent forth his Son, and the angelic announcement was not unclear: this is he whose kingdom shall never end. It was expected that when the “son of man” arrived he would come with judgment (Ps 2:9), but this would hardly be good news for rebels such as we are! Find out why the arrival of the “son of man” truly is “a great joy that will be for all the people!” (Lk 2:10)
Daniel 7:15-28 - December 15th, 2019
The second half of Daniel 7 is capped with Daniel’s reaction to what he has seen: alarm and deep disquiet. This is understandable at first, but the more he comes to know, the worse he seems to feel. Why the increased alarm? Well, an important key to our understanding becomes clear as Gabriel, the angel, introduces a third prominent figure: the saints. Mentioned at least five times, this reminds us that the prophetic vision is for God’s people, and therefore, we should be glued! Daniel learns a great truth straightaway: the saints will receive the kingdom! But he also learns a hard truth… what must first take place before then. Until we’ve really grasped this reality, we will never get why Daniel felt the way he did, nor how it should move our hearts today.
