Keshant is the thirteenth of the sixteen sanskar practiced by the Hindus. It is believed that after coming out of the womb, the child"s hair on the head are of mother and father. To remove them from the head is considered pure and divine. Purification is necessary before attaining education so that the brain works in the right direction. After getting education from Gurukul in ancient times, Keshant Sanskar was performed.
