George Bernard Shaw találó szavaival élve: ”Az emberi életben két tragédia létezik. Az egyik, ha megkapjuk szívünk vágyát, a másik, ha nem.” Ha a vágyak világában maradunk, sohasem tudjuk beteljesíteni magunkat. Gyermekként milliónyi vágyunk van, és amikor hetvenévesek vagyunk, még mindig nyomorultul érezzük magunkat, mikor látjuk, hogy egy bizonyos vágyunk nem teljesült be. Szeretnénk egy házat, aztán kettőt. Akarunk egy autót, azután kettőt. És ennek se vége; se hossza.

Egyesek abban a tudatban élnek, hogy a vágy és a törekvés ugyanaz. Sajnos – vagy inkább szerencsére – ez nem igaz. A kettő közti különbség nagyon egyszerű és világos. A vágy mag akarja kötni, és fel akarja falni a világot. A törekvés meg akarja szabadítani, és táplálni akarja a világot. A vágy a kifelé áramló energia. A törekvés a beáramló fény.

Mondani sem kell, hogy törekvésünk, feltörő belső sírásunk az, ami elvezet a Mennyei Királysághoz, egy olyan síkhoz, ami tiszta béke és gyönyör. Ezt érezhetjük, amikor mélyen magunkban maradunk, amikor túllépünk egocentrikus személyes tudatunkon. Minél magasabban túlmegyünk korlátozott tudatunkon, annál gyorsabban lépünk be legmélyebb, végtelen tudatunkba, és annál bensőségesebben látjuk, érezzük és birtokoljuk majd magunkban a Mennyei Királyságot.

A vágy elvárás. Ha nincs elvárás nincs kiábrándultság. Ha megöljük a vágyat, építjük a boldogságot. A vágy kísértés. Ha a kísértést ápoljuk, éheztetjük a valódi boldogságot. A törekvés ébredés. A lélek ébredése a mennyei boldogság kezdete.

In the apt words of George Bernard Shaw, “There are two tragedies in life. One is not to get your hearts desire; the other is to get it.” If we remain in the world of desire, we will never be able to fulfil ourselves. As a child, we have millions of desires, and even when we reach the age of seventy, we see that a particular desire has not been fulfilled and we feel miserable. We want one house, then two houses; one car, then two cars. I here is no limit to it.

Some people are under the impression that desire and aspiration are the same thing. Unfortunately — or, rather, fortunately — that is not true. The difference between the two is very simple and clear. Desire wants to bind and devour the world. Aspiration wishes to free and feed the world. Desire is the outgoing energy. Aspiration is the inflowing light.

Needless to say, it is our aspiration, our mounting inner cry, that leads us to the Kingdom of Heaven: a plane full of peace and delight. We feel it when we reside deep within ourselves and when we transcend our egocentric individual consciousness. The higher we go beyond our limited consciousness, the guicker we enter into our deepest, infinite consciousness, and the more intimately we shall see, feel and possess the Kingdom of Heaven within ourselves.

Desire is expectation. No expectation, no frustration. Desire killed, true happiness built. Desire is temptation. Temptation nourished, true happiness starved. Aspiration is avwakening. The souls awakening is the birth of supernal delight.
