After a decade of not driving, I’ve realized something surprising:

It’s really not all bad.

In fact, I probably only truly miss driving about 5% of the time.

We talk a lot about vision loss, but we don’t always talk about it clearly. Too often, people think of it in extremes. You either have sight or you don’t. You’re either fine or you’re not. Real life doesn’t work that way.

Vision loss is a spectrum.

In this episode, I walk through what that actually means, not just clinically, but personally. What it feels like to live somewhere in the middle. The assumptions people make. The quiet misunderstandings that show up in everyday moments. And why getting this right matters more than people realize.

Back to basics. Because that’s where understanding begins.

Pet ownership is an absolute responsibility. A pet is any non-human creature we choose to care for, creating a bond through consistent attention and protection. Across cultures, pets vary widely, but the duty of care is the same: proper nutrition, healthcare, safe shelter, enrichment, and emotional support for life. Neglect can be subtle—overlooking illness or needs—and animals cannot speak for themselves. If you cannot commit the time, resources, and effort, don’t adopt. Done right, pet ownership benefits both animal and human, teaching empathy and responsibility. The rule is simple: do it right, or not at all.

Both of these locations are beautiful and offer lots of activities.

History has a way of repeating itself. The challenges, conflicts, and upheavals we face today are echoes of the past. Societies have risen and fallen, economies have boomed and collapsed, and leaders have made the same promises, mistakes, and decisions time and again. The struggles for justice, power, and freedom are nothing new—only the faces and circumstances change. Humanity has seen wars, pandemics, political turmoil, and cultural shifts before. While technology and progress evolve, the fundamental patterns remain. We have been here before, and history reminds us that the lessons of the past are vital for shaping the future.

Being comfortable with discomfort is a valuable skill that fosters personal growth and resilience. It means embracing challenges, uncertainty, or awkward situations instead of avoiding them. People who master this mindset recognize that discomfort often accompanies progress, whether it’s learning a new skill, facing fears, or navigating tough conversations. While it can be unsettling, leaning into discomfort allows individuals to expand their comfort zones and build confidence. Over time, discomfort becomes less intimidating, and they develop greater adaptability. Ultimately, being comfortable with discomfort is about accepting temporary unease as a stepping stone to long-term fulfillment and self-improvement.
