Approximately two years ago when medical cannabis became legal in the UK I went to my GP to ask him can I have medical cannabis for chronic pain he replied ‘no’ I was shocked by his response and lack of understanding and awareness of the amount of pain I was suffering from 5 years ago, after two MRI scans and seeing a various pain specialist and spine consultants I was diagnosed with six discs degeneration two in my cervical spine, thoracic region and lumbar, not only that I was also diagnosed with kyphosis and schumans disease a lifelong debilitating and chronic condition which causes tremendous chronic pain Over the last few months I’ve done my own research on the Endocannabinoid system, I then looked at medical cannabis and looked into article and research how it’s helped so many people living with chronic pain, I then spoke to a few Doctors whom specifically specialized in medical cannabis, I contacted sapphire medical cannabis clinic (The UK’s First CQC Registered Medical Cannabis Clinic) the next day, a few days later my zoom consultation was set up with a consultant for a pain specialist, i spoke with the consultant for 45 mins, he listened to everything i had to say, and this is one of the fundamental aspects for anyone's health and care after i told him my history of pain and my issues he said it's not up to him it will have to go to a MDT (multi disciplinary team) a team of doctors and experts to agree if I can start the treatments, on Monday the 16th of November i was told i was accepted for medical cannabis, i was shocked but mostly relived because i never thought i would be accepted i was then put in contact with the pharmacy whom actually manufacture medical cannabis in the UK i contacted CBPM Access and my medication was sent via courier and it arrived in the 21st of November i stared the treatment and started a seven-day Video blog you can watch this hear after doing many months of research I've put some useful information below if you feel you could benefit from medical cannabis or contact me on social media if you have any questions, il do my best to help Patients complete the simple online form
