The Annual Mardi Gras Party sponsored by Indiana American Water is the Swope Art Museum’s biggest fundraiser of the year, and 2019 is shaping up to be a record-setting year for the Swope! Mardi Gras is at the Terre Haute Brewing Company on March 2

from 8pm to midnight. The MacDaddys will be in the house, as will Sora Circus Entertainment featuring an aerial bartender! We have 8 candidates running for Mardi Gras Queen and King:

The candidates who raise the most money will be crowned 2019 Swope Mardi Gras King and Queen and will forever hold their place in Swope lore.
We still have a few VIP tables available at $600 each. General Admission tickets are on sale for $40 each, as are tickets for the Pre-Party at Stables Steakhouse for $30 each. VIP Tables come with plenty of SWAG (hurricane glasses, complimentary drinks, a place to sit and enjoy French Quarter-themed appetizers, a Mardi Gras dessert, and table service for additional drinks) and can be purchased from your favorite candidate or on Eventbrite at

All proceeds benefit the Swope Art Museum and help fund exhibitions and programming throughout the year:
Art Start – Tuesdays at 1pm – for children ages 3 to 5 – free program that uses books and corresponding art projects to encourage creativity
Second Saturday Studio – 2

Saturday of each month 1pm to 3pm – Artists of all ages explore themes from special exhibitions and the Swope’s collection
Summer Art Studio – June 10 to July 19 – 1-week sessions Mon to Fri 9am to 11am or 12pm to 2pm – ages 4 to 18 – experiment with new materials and take home a work of art each day
