This opinion piece is in response to a local school board election. All across America, rural communities are increasingly at odds with their public school administrations. Those administrations promote the more liberal leftist, sometimes radical, perspectives fostered by colleges and universities, whereas the worldview of rural communities is more traditional and conservative. The challenge for rural communities is to accept the benefits of public education while restraining the attempts to indoctrinate young people. What should be the role of citizens and school board members? Do we love our schools or do we act as gatekeepers to protect our children?

This episode is a retrospective of my aspirations as a singer/songwriter. It's partly a family remembrance, but also an attempt to inspire others to share something less wordy and intellectual and more heart-felt. There must be others out there who wrote songs or poetry or did something creative that was never shared with a wide audience.  

Seeing Is Believing is a recommendation. Set aside abstract thinking, ideology, and theology. Redirect your mind toward what God has given you, knowledge of His Word and experience of His creation. This may well be the key to learning what is true and productively operating in truth. 

This title is a little misleading. It's about all those things but I'm also concerned with solutions. Consider how we might tear down the high places, the strongholds that promote evil in our society and work contrary to God's Kingdom.
