When Jesus sent His disciples out to preach the gospel, He gave them both power and authority over demons (see Luke 9:1). What is the difference between authority and power, and why do we need them both when ministering deliverance? In this episode, Jake teaches from Chapter Three of Setting Captives Free. He explains how we have authority over evil spirits through the Word of God and the name of Jesus, and power to minister through the anointing of the Holy Spirit. When we walk in this powerful combination, we are equipped to cast out demons and set captives free!

Is it possible for a Christian to have a demon? If a believer is the temple of the Holy Spirit, how can an evil spirit also be present in their life? In this episode, Jake tackles the most controversial aspect of deliverance ministry. Teaching from Chapter Two of Setting Captives Free, he explains why the question of whether or not a Christian can have a demon is a significant question with far-reaching implications. While many hold a strong conviction that believers don't need deliverance from evil spirits, this belief is based more on human logic than biblical truth. When we clear away the misunderstandings, we pave the way for God's people to experience greater freedom!
