Southwest and its pilots say that’s not the issue and that the pilots are not calling in sick.  Pilots are blaming management’s poor planning with staffing and scheduling. Southwest blamed bad weather in Florida and air traffic control issues. The FAA said it did not have prolonged issues with air traffic control. On the surface it seems Southwest is running things so tight with staffing and aircraft that any hiccup is causing cascading problems.
