The HSU Political Science Department is sponsoring a Voter Education Forum this Wednesday, April 18 at 7:00 p.m. in HSU's Founders Hall Room 118. Representatives from various political parties will answer questions on an array of issues related to the upcoming June primary and November general elections. In the wee hours of the morning on April 15, 2017, Humboldt State University student David Josiah Lawson was murdered at an off-campus party. Hours later Courtney Wagner, a Sacramento State University student, received a call from her friend, another HSU student, who told her about the murder. After searching her local news outlets, to no avail, Courtney decided to cover the story herself for a senior project. "As an anthropologist, service means seeing the whole world as your backyard," says Dr. Jennifer Cavalari. "You see this kind of faulty distribution of resources." To make it entertaining we have to have stunts and puppets and costumes," explains Japanese storyteller Kuniko Yamamoto during her interview about her performance on the KHSU Magazine. Redwood Jazz Alliance is bringing Cuban-born jazz musician Fabian Almazan to the HSU campus on March 6th. Humboldt State music lecturer Dan Aldag spoke with Fabian via phone from New York to discuss the upcoming performance. Laura Munoz from DellArte School of Physical Theater talks about the performance event "One Minute Dances," happening at the Redwood Raks dance studio February 23rd and 24th.
