Professor Dr. Frederick V. Engram Jr. talks about how he uses critical race theory to help make sense of the African American experience with racism within both the higher education and criminal justice systems. Dr. Frederick serves in the role of Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of Texas-Arlington with a joint appointment in the Center for African American Studies (CAAS) and the Department of Criminology/Criminal Justice. He also holds an affiliate faculty role in the College of Education within the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. In his written scholarship he chooses to focus on and make sense of how African Americans experience racism in both the systems of higher education as well as criminal justice. He is rooted in disrupting how oppressive systems steal our voices, rename our experiences, and prohibit us from telling our own stories. As a public scholar, Frederick uses his voice to provide context to what liberation looks like and what is required of us. His public work has been published in media outlets such as Blavity, Diverse Issues in Higher Education, and Forbes.

Author & Model Andrea Williams talks about the release of her new book "Fearless of the Inevitable". Andrea opens up about her life long struggle with depression, suicidal thoughts and losing loved ones to that very same fate. Andrea Williams is a model, bartender, and IT Project Manager born and raised in Cleve land, OH, who currently resides in Atlanta, GA. Her own experience with depression and survival of off and on suicidal ideation inspired her to give others a sense of encouragement in hopes that it may shift someone's perspective on using suicide as a method to escape or find relief from their current state of being.

Cartoon Artist David Gorden talks about art and creativity through the eyes and the mind of a cartoonist. David is a creator, writer, and sequential artist who specializes in the creation of intellectual properties. Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, he fell in love with art, particularly visual storytelling, at a young age. He began making his own comic strips and submitting them to the Post-Dispatch, at the age of 8.  The Post very graciously turned David down; with the editor at the time sending him a rejection letter that encouraged him to continue to pursue his dream of becoming a cartoonist.  David went on to become a professional graphic artist and cartoonist and was a founding member of legendary St. Louis art crews Air Assault and later Mach One.

Pamela Erin Ricardo is a trained theater, film, and television actress who is quickly lighting up wherever she lands. The Afro-Latina is Brooklyn born, Atlanta raised and definitely multifaceted like that of a diamond.  She spent most of her late teens and early 20’s working multiple jobs to make ends meet for herself and it wasn’t until 2007 that she was approached about a career in acting. She did her first stageplay with no prior experience and hasn’t looked back since. 

Some of her credits include a recurring role on two seasons of BET’s “The Quad” starring Anika Noni Rose, CMT’s “Still The King” starring the legendary Billy Ray Cyrus, and The CW’s hit television series “The Vampire Diaries.”   Her signature nickname "Pamela The Beauty" comes from winning the 2009 Miss Black Manhattan USA Pageant in New York City.  Her platform remains to this day, "Chase Your Dreams."  It was in New York that Pamela began her training at The Stella Adler Conservatory and she continues to train at The Company Acting Studio in Georgia as well as with the legendary Rob Mello, Dwayne Boyd, and Los Angeles Acting Coach to the stars, Crystal Carson.
