Let’s just say… parenting will expose you real quick.
In this episode, we finally dive into transitions—specifically, the wild ride of parenting. We talk about those early marriage days when FOMO was real, petty arguments were petty and loud, and we thought we had it all figured out… until the kids came and humbled us.
We get into:
How parenting showed us we still had a lot of growing to do
Why asking for help doesn’t mean you’re weak—it means you’re wise
What it felt like growing up as “outsiders” and how that shaped our family values
And how God keeps refining us through the chaos (and cuteness) of raising kids
This one’s for the parents, the soon-to-be’s, and the folks just trying to figure it out without losing themselves. You are not alone.
"We Were Gonna Talk About Transitions… But God Had Other Plans"
After a 4-week break (life be life-ing), we're back—kinda unexpectedly. We thought this episode would be about transitions in marriage… but a “quick” 5-minute recap of our 19-day hospital stay turned into a 45-minute reflection on God’s faithfulness, spiritual growth, and how He truly covers His children.
In this episode, we open up about our son’s recent hospitalization, the emotional rollercoaster, and how—even in the hard places—God showed up through nurses, doctors, and divine peace. We didn’t get to our planned topic, but honestly, this moment needed space.
So pull up a chair, grab a cup, and join us for a real convo on God’s provision, unexpected blessings, and the way He teaches us through the storm.
We’ll talk transitions next time… probably.
Welcome to Kickin’ It With The Croffies (KIWTC) — the unscripted side of marriage. In this episode, we’re talking about the expectations we didn’t set in our marriage and what we learned the hard way.
From navigating the tension that comes with poor communication to realizing that premarital counseling didn’t cover it all, we’re breaking down how we’ve grown as partners. We also get real about unlearning family patterns, doing what works for our household, and why clear expectations are everything.
Here’s What We’re Getting Into:
Doing what works for you, not your parents
Letting go of what no longer serves your relationship
Why the checklist isn’t enough — real lessons come after “I do”
How poor communication can shake the peace at home
Marriage isn’t about perfection; it’s about growth.
Let’s talk about it.

Welcome back to Kickin’ It With The Croffies (KIWTC) — where life is unscripted, and so are our toddlers. In this episode, we’re celebrating 11 years of marriage, which means we’ve officially earned the right to share some “what we wish we knew” wisdom. Spoiler: It’s not all candlelit dinners and couple goals. Sometimes it’s surviving postpartum and realizing that partnership is way deeper than splitting the bills.
We’re diving into what it means to build something real — the kind of partnership that doesn’t crumble when life gets loud. From navigating identity after being #SAHM to understanding how God’s timing rarely (read: never) matches our own, we’re covering it all.
Some Gems We’re Dropping:
It’s real life, family-style. So grab your coffee, grab your spouse, and join the convo. Let’s kick it.
As they say—the third time’s the charm! After shiny object syndrome, a cross-country move, and adding a few more kids to the mix, we’re finally back at it. We’re Patrick and Chanita, a dynamic family figuring out life, love, and parenting in the Pacific Northwest. Ten years of marriage, four amazing kids—each with their own unique needs—and a whole lot of learning along the way.
This podcast is for families like ours—doing their best to make sure everyone feels seen and heard while juggling all of life’s twists and turns. We’re just out here trying to build a life that makes sense (or at least doesn’t completely fall apart). So pull up a seat, laugh with us, learn with us, and remember—you’re not in this alone. Family life is a wild ride, but it’s one worth taking.

The month of March is always a big one to the Croffie family. It's when we celebrate our union, self publishing books & ish, how we went low-key viral on a post we shared on social media, and recognize Cerebral Palsy awareness month. It's always during this time we reflect on all the above and then some. In this episode we revisit our early years together and how we dealt with being fresh in the marriage game, our first introduction to parenthood, and handling this bundle of joy named Caleb that would rock our worlds!!!
Thank you for joining our date night! In this episode we share how COVID has forced us to have real moments. We can no longer use leaving the house for work, tasks, and dropping the kids off at school as a buffer anymore. Consequently we have been having some tough conversations. The statement that drove this particular topic is " I feel as though I'm doing everything!" Hope you enjoy and can grow with us through this conversation.
