On this week's episode of Kickin & Streamin Podcast, Graham & Jocelyn discuss British series The Fall starring Jillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan. Graham began by pointing out that The Fall has been around since 2013 and was available on Netflix, but somehow it never seemed to gain traction on that platform; which explains why Graham never thought about watching it. Jocelyn says the show's lack of popularity is a gross injustice as it is an absolute smash of a series.  After a brief synopsis of The Fall by Jocelyn, Graham & Jocelyn discuss the show, its characters, the complexities of the show's plot and its cast.  This podcast was livestreamed on our YouTube channel and it's available to watch. please don't forget to subscribe for future episodes. On this week's episode of Kickin & Streamin Podcast Graham & Jocelyn discuss the Netflix original movie I Care A Lot, starring Rosamund Pike, Peter Dinklage, Dianne Wiest, and Eiza Gonzalez. Graham begins by acknowledging Rosamund Pike's absolutely blinding performance and how deserving she was of winning the Golden Globe for best actress; however, he didn't find the film's topic appealing. Jocelyn adored the movie and how it portrays a woman (Marla Grayson) played by Rosamud Pike, who is unapologetically ruthless and ambitious. The two co-host discuss the different points of the movie and the cast of characters.  This podcast was livestreamed on our YouTube channel and it's available to watch. please don't forget to subscribe for future episodes. On this week's episode of Kickin & Streamin Podcast Graham & Jocelyn discuss the much awaited film Coming 2 America, a sequel to Eddie Murphy's 1988 film Coming To America, starring himself and Arsenio Hall. Before delving into the main topic, Graham & Jocelyn also discussed the season finale of Wanda Vision which also took place on the same day of Coming 2 America's release. Graham & Jocelyn praised Disney's serious production approach to the series especially with the cinematic special effects displayed throughout the show's entire season. Graham & Jocelyn also speculated about possible spinoffs, and origin stories as a result of the many cameo appearances by many characters from other franchises within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  Graham & Jocelyn then, initiated the main conversation about Coming 2 America. Graham expressed his fondness for the original film, and the memorable quotes and one-liners he and some friends still use. Jocelyn agrees that although she hasn't seen the original movie, she's aware of the cultural phenomenon it has been and how it has influenced American culture. Graham believes Coming 2 America by itself is an absolutely hilarious and acceptable film, but not necessarily as a sequel to the original movie released some 33 years ago. Graham explains his take in detail, and later discusses the cast with Jocelyn This and all of our podcast episodes will be available to watch on our YouTube channel on Fridays at noon. please don't forget to subscribe for future episodes. On this episode of Kickin' & Streamin' Podcast Graham & Jocelyn discuss the movie Judas & The Black Messiah starring Daniel Kaluuya, Lakeith Stanfield, Dominique Fishback and a cast of supporting actors under the direction of Shaka King. Graham begins by explaining why the film isn't necessarily a biopic of Fred Hampton's life, but rather the circumstances leading to his assassination. Jocelyn provided a synopsis of the film and began to discuss the movie with Graham. Graham pointed out the parallels between Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus as a disillusioned disciple who expected Jesus to be political revolutionary as opposed to the pacifist "fisher of men" he claimed to be; whereas William O'Neal, the character referred to as Judas in this movie, is a criminal cornered and coerced by the FBI to infiltrate the Black Panther Party in exchange for dismissal of his criminal charges. Jocelyn referred to and recommended an article by the The Smithsonian Magazine where a detailed account of the real life story of Fred Hampton and William O'Neal is chronicled. On this episode of Kickin' & Streamin' Podcast, Graham & Jocelyn discuss the Amazon original movie 'Sound of Metal' starring Golden Globes nominated British actor Riz Ahmed, along with Olivia Cooke, and Paul Raci. Graham began by marveling at the fact that the film, which is about the story of a musician, has very little to do with music, or noise, but rather the profound impact of sudden silence. Jocelyn reflects upon Riz Ahmed's portrayal of the character of Ruben as he navigates his new condition of sudden deafness and finding a community of support as a recovering addict.  Jocelyn & Graham also discuss the fine lines that exists when an able-bodied actor or performer portrays a character with disability and Hollywood's tendency to wanting to "fix" the character's disability, but in this movie, we learn that not all disabled people see themselves as something or someone who needs "fixing." This and all of our podcast episodes will be available to watch on our YouTube channel on Fridays at noon. please don't forget to subscribe for future episodes. On this episode of Kickin' & Streamin' Podcast, Graham & Jocelyn discuss HBO Max's The Little Things, starring  Denzel Washington, Rami Malek, and Jared Leto. The movie directed by John Lee Hancock premiered simultaneously in theatres and on HBO's streaming platform on Jan 29. Jocelyn & Graham began by acknowledging one the viewers' chief complaint about this movie is the fact that the storyline, the plot, and even the genre might be spent and offer nothing new, but at the same time, both Graham & Jocelyn agree this particular movie offers a classic and nostalgic tone found in an old school psychological thriller. Graham and Jocelyn analyzed the movie's plot and its notable moments, focusing on the performance by Washington, Malek & Leto. This and all of our podcast episodes will be available to watch on our YouTube channel on Fridays at noon. please don't forget to subscribe for future episodes. On this episode of Kickin' & Streamin' Podcast, Graham & Jocelyn discuss the surprisingly sensational French-speaking Netflix original series 'Lupin.' The series stars French actor Omar Sy (Jurassic World), and a brilliant cast of actors. In this series, Sy plays Assane, the son of a west African immigrant whose father committed suicide after he was framed for a robbery he didn't do. As an orphan, Assane became obsessed with the book of the fictional character of Arsene Lupin, a highly intelligent and skillful "Gentleman and Thief."  Graham & Jocelyn wonder how the legend of Lupin has not made it into the English-speaking consciousness given the similarities of Lupin to other characters in the English-speaking folklore such as Robin Hood, Simon Templar, and even Sherlock Holmes. Graham & Jocelyn also review the series analyzing the characters and some of the most intense scenes (without spoilers!). Jocelyn gives Lupin a full 4 stars rating, and Graham concurs.  This and all of our podcast episodes will be available to watch on our YouTube channel on Fridays at noon. please don't forget to subscribe for future episodes.
