Kid Tested, Mother Approved

Part One of our "Biopics" series! This week is the worst biopics. We were talking about how we've been on a "buy it streak" so we wanted to watch some bad movies. Be careful what you wish for, I guess. Ruben had to watch "Florence Foster Jenkins" and Dawn watched "The Conquerer." One of these movies was actually enjoyable to watch, the other one had Meryl Streep in it.

Episode 27! It's a big one! We decided to stream this episode! we're not sure how it went. We think it worked? We might not stream them again. Anyways, the theme was "Spoof Movies" as suggested by an email! Dawn had to watch "What We Do In The Shadows" and Ruben had to sit and endure "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes." This was a shorter episode because AotKT has no legitimate plot.

This week is a special episode based on suggestions from one of Ruben's favorite comedian's Chris Gethard. Chris' creativity helped inspire this podcast! Dawn watched "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" and Ruben was given the movie, "Grosse Pointe Blank." Ruben falls in love with the bit "Topanga finds a weed". Ruben says some not great things about people he went to high school with, but not in a "hot goss" way but like in a jaded adult way.

November is here! So that means no gimmicks! At least until December...

This week is another Patreon episode and the theme was "Teacher Student Relationships." Dawn was given the movie "Mr. Holland's Opus" and Ruben was given the movie, "Good Will Hunting." This is is WICKED SMAHT episode. And by that I mean, it's a lot less funny or goofy than normal episodes because Dawn and Ruben discuss what it's like to be a teacher in a world that doesn't really reward that.

Also, Ruben finds out that Richard Dreyfuss is in no way related to Julia Louis-Dreyfus and it kind of blows his mind.

It's the last week of the gimmick episodes! Don't worry! In this final episode of Kid Tested, Monster Approved; the topic is the king of horror, Stephen King. I made that pun on the show too and I didn't do it on purpose. Frankly, I'm embarrassed. Ruben got to watch "Misery" and Dawn got to watch "Stand By Me." Apparently, there was an 80's movie that had John Cusack in it that Dawn had never seen. Dawn made Ruben edit out a "Mary Kay Laterno" joke he made at the end, that's why it clips a bit.

We're back! Sort of... We're using a loaner computer and we very much appreciate it! Don't worry, Ruben explains what happened. He also has a lot of problems with a company that rhymes with Shmell Shmomputers.

The theme was "Not scary movies with scary scenes" Dawn watched "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" and Ruben watched "Rear Window." Ruben gets embarrassed by Dawn's view of the Indiana Jones franchise.

Ooooooooo "Kid Tested, Monster Approved" has arrived! Episode 1 of our October series is here!

The theme was "First movie that scared you," Dawn watched "Barney In Concert" and Ruben watched "Wizard of Oz." If this is a sign for how this month is going to go, it's gonna be a strange one.

Some one once said, "One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do, two can be as bad as one. It't the loneliest number since the number one," In this case it's not. This weeks episode is Best Duos!

The theme was "Best Duos," Dawn watched "Tommy Boy" and Ruben watched "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh." They talk about "Greg Piglet" and talk about how great Chris Farley's career could have been. Yeah, don't ask about Greg Piglet.

Episode 20?! We didn't give up! We're still going on!

The theme was "Kid Tested, Mother Approved," That means, movies about mothers and sons. Dawn watched "Looper" and Ruben watched "Throw Momma From the Train." Every one likes a calm episode! right?! RIGHT?! Mom was really thrown off by Joseph Gordon-Levitt's Bruce Willis face.
