Fun Fact: Carolyn and Kel reprised their roles in 2023 to record segments that were only heard live on the radio in 1987.  

Original Song “The Big Orange Boogie” was written by Carolyn Meyer and performed by Red Dirt musicians as follows:

This song was later published as one of the songs in Kel Pickens and Carolyn Meyer’s operetta entitled “The Colors of Life,” marketed worldwide by Wide World Music, Inc., Delaware Water Gap, PA. Kel wrote the libretto and Carolyn composed all the lyrics and music of all the songs, which featured a color in each one. 

Of special note: Miss Carolyn sings the lead vocal on the song “Witches’ Brew” to the instrumental soundtrack on a record.

“The Haunted Halloween Hootenanny” first aired  Oct. 28, 1982

This episode chronicles one of several ghastly holiday parties that sprang up in the home of the hostess, Miss Carolyn. It seems that the Good Ghost can't help himself when throwing Halloween parties for his ghoulish guests. The lineup of terrific Halloween songs for this party is unforgettable. Listeners were challenged to write the ingredients they would add to a witch's brew, which employees judged, and the winner had his lyrical additives dropped into the song "Witch's Brew" sung at the end of this show. A local boy named Jonathan Kocan snared some prizes for winning the song lyrics contest.

“Name that Trick-or-Treat Tune” first aired  Oct. 23, 1982

In this game-show parody, Miss Carolyn is lucky enough to appear as a contestant on “Name That Trick-or-Treat Tune.” This particular game show has rules and prizes that reflect the Halloween spirit. She has to compete against another contestant named Ray Cumberbund, who is quite intent on winning, but that has twists and consequences. The MC, Leo Gumbo, who looks strangely like a famous figure of satire and parody, takes macabre pleasure in his job.
